# Every co-op in BC got its own front door.

We rebuilt the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC's website and gave every housing co-op in the province a page of its own. In the 84 days after launch, people read more, stayed longer, and landed right on the co-op they were looking for.

Each dot is one of 287 co-ops. The bigger the dot, the more people opened that co-op's page in the first 84 days.

## A rebuild their own team can run.

The old site had grown templated and hard to change, and every update meant a developer and a wait. We trimmed years of content into a simpler structure, built it from a library of sections CHF BC's editors compose themselves, and connected the Co-op Explorer straight to their Salesforce records.

> Paper Crane has developed three websites for us, they've been great partners and adapted easily to the different requirements of each, with clear guidelines on each phase of the project. Feedback from our members and other website users have been overwhelmingly positive.

The numbers back that up.

## A flat year. Then launch day.

For a year, weekly pageviews barely moved. The week after launch they ran 70% above the old site's average week, and every week since has stayed at least 29% above it.

## Search now lands on the co-op itself.

The old site showed every co-op through one shared address, so Google had one page to rank. Now each of the 287 co-ops has its own. Someone searching for Aaron Webster Housing Co-op lands on Aaron Webster's page, and three times as many visits now start on a co-op profile.

## ChatGPT started sending people.

Visits from AI assistants grew almost thirteenfold. Pages with one clear subject each, like a single co-op, are the kind these tools can read and link to.

They're still only about 2.5% of visits. They're also the fastest-growing way people found the site.

### Pain Connect

Pain Connect is the Chronic Pain Network's national platform for connecting Canadians to pain research. It is a website and a working micro application: a searchable directory of studies, a database that matches people to them, an admin portal, and the email flows that tie it all together. Built for McMaster University's Chronic Pain Network, so that the people who live with pain have a say in the research that shapes their care.
