When off-the-shelf software almost fits, you end up bending your business to match it.
When the software you need doesn't exist, or the version that does fits everyone except you, we build it: custom products, internal platforms and customer-facing tools, engineered to be fast and secure, and owned outright by the people who run them.

Stop working around your software
Most teams contort themselves around software someone else designed. You pay per seat for features you'll never use, work around the ones you actually need, and export to spreadsheets to do the part the tool forgot.
We start from how your business actually works, then design and build the exact software it needs and hand it over for you to own.
What we build
Bespoke products
Software products from the ground up: the idea, the architecture, the brand and the build. Zephy started as one freelancer's billing problem and became a company.
Internal platforms
The operating system your business runs on: dashboards, portals, role-based tools and the integrations that hold it together, replacing a stack of disconnected apps.
Customer-facing tools
Booking systems, directories, member portals and the public-facing software your audience touches every day, fast, reliable and unmistakably yours.
From a billing headache to a company
Zephy began as a simple, maddening problem: freelancers doing small jobs and waiting 30+ days to get paid for them. We built the whole thing: a FastAPI backend, a Next.js app, a Chrome extension that turns an email into a billable task, and multi-tenant Stripe payments.
Since launch it's processed hundreds of thousands of dollars, and clients using it report 40% more revenue for the same work. It now runs as its own company.
Detail
We don't start from zero
Years of building software means we rarely begin with a blank page. We start from a proven foundation, our own substrate with authentication, roles, a real database and integrations already solved, and shape it to exactly how your product needs to work.
Because of that, bespoke software can land in months rather than years, on infrastructure that's already battle-tested, and it's yours to keep.

Where software and operations overlap
There's a thin line between building you a piece of software and rebuilding how your business runs, and we work on both sides of it. Sometimes the answer is a bespoke product. Other times it's consolidating the tools you already juggle into one system you own.
If your real problem is operational, too many disconnected apps and too much manual work, that's our Business Automation practice, and the same team builds it.
A few things we've built
Zephy
A bespoke billing product with a Chrome extension and Stripe payments, now a company of its own.
MovieScout
A Rust-powered, bilingual catalogue unifying live showtimes from 500+ Canadian theatres.
SocialNext
A nation-spanning event operating system, migrated off Airtable with 100K+ records intact and about 16 hours saved per event.
RDCK Engage
A public-engagement platform that replaced an expensive proprietary tool at 95%+ lower cost, built as bespoke software on a modern WordPress core.
We choose the stack that fits the problem
We work across the right tools for the job: Rust where it has to be bulletproof, Python and Next.js where speed and iteration matter, and whatever else your product calls for.
AI, integrated with intent
Most teams are being told to add AI to everything. The truth is that AI is only as good as the data and the system around it. When it belongs in your software, we build it in deliberately, grounded in your own data and pointed at real work.
We wrote up our full approach to AI integration if you want to go deeper.
Questions before you build
Do we own the software?
Yes, outright. We build it, you own it: the code, the data, the infrastructure. There's a build cost, and after that it's yours, with no per-seat fees and no renting your own product back.
How is this different from Business Automation?
Software Development is about building a product, platform or tool, often from scratch. Business Automation is about consolidating the tools you already run into one system you own. They overlap, and the same team builds both, so we'll point you to whichever actually solves your problem.
Is bespoke software secure?
We build on modern, secure foundations and take it seriously, especially for sensitive data. Security is part of the architecture from day one.
What does it cost to run?
Because you own it and we build on an efficient stack, running costs are typically a fraction of equivalent per-seat SaaS, and they don't balloon as your team grows.
How long does it take?
Starting from a proven foundation rather than a blank page, bespoke software can land in months rather than years. We'll give you a real timeline once we understand the problem.
What languages and stacks do you use?
Whatever fits the problem: Rust, Python, Next.js, React and more. We're not religious about languages; we pick the right tool for what you're building and what it has to do.
